Redmi 10X and 10X Pro with Dimensity 820 and 5G support launched: price specifications

Xiaomi hosted an event in China today to launch several products, including RedmiBook laptops and a Redmi smart TV. At the same event, the brand has announced its latest Redmi smartphones, the Redmi 10X and 10X Pro. Notably, the handsets are the first to come powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 820 SoC, which is an affordable 5G-enabled processor.

The Redmi 10X duo share several design elements with the Redmi Note 9 Pro series. Xiaomi recently revealed that the Redmi 10X scored an impressive 4,15,672 points on AnTuTu. The key highlights of the devices include 5G connectivity, an in-display fingerprint sensor, quad cameras, and a beefy 4,520mAh battery.

The Redmi 10X duo ship with an 6.57-inch full HD+ AMOLED display, with a waterdrop notch for the selfie camera. The display offers features like DC dimming, HDR10 +, and in-display optical fingerprint scanner. The display is protected by a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 5, while an IP53 rating provides dust and water resistance.

As for the configuration, the smartphones are being offered with a 7nm Dimensity 820 SoC, accompanied by a Mali G77 GPU. The processor is paired with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB storage, on both the standard and Pro variants.

The Redmi 10X pro is equipped with four cameras on the back, consisting of a 48-megapixel primary camera, 8-megapixel ultra-wide, 5-megapixel macro and an 8MP 30x zoom telephoto lens. The vanilla Redmi 10x misses out on the telephoto lens. The waterdrop notch in the front houses a 20-megapixel snapper for the Pro variant and 16-megapixel camera for the standard Redmi 10X. The standard model also lacks 30x zoom support.

Both phones feature 4,520mAh batteries, with support for 33W fast charging for the Pro model, and 22.5W for the standard edition. Another difference between the two models is that the Pro model features NFC. Out of the box, the smartphones boot MIUI 12 based on Android 10. The phones are also the first in the world to support Dual 5G standby in the dual SIM slots.

Redmi 10X and 10X Pro price and availability

The Redmi 10X will be available in Ningye Purple, Deep Ocean Blue, Hazy Moon Gold, and Star Dew White colours. The Redmi 10X has been priced at RMB 1,599 (~Rs 16,700) for the 6GB + 64GB storage model. The phone is also being offered in  6GB + 128GB, 8GB + 128GB, and 8GB + 256GB variants, which will retail at RMB 1,799 (~Rs 19,100), RMB 2,099 (~Rs 22,300), and RMB 2,399 (~Rs 25,500), respectively.

The Redmi 10X Pro, on the other hand, is being offered in 8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB variants with price set at RMB 2,299 (~Rs 24,400), and RMB 2,599 (~Rs 27,600 ), respectively.
