Xiaomi sub-brand, Redmi organised a mega event to launch its Redmi 10X series smartphones, Redmi TV and more in China today. The company launched the Redmi 10X and Redmi 10X Pro 5G devices powered by the Mediatek Dimensity 820 SoC. The brand also launched a third Redmi 10X device called the Redmi 10X 4G, which is a toned-down version of its 5G counterparts.
Notably, the Redmi 10X 4G is the rebranded Redmi Note 9 that was launched last month globally. The smartphone gets a punch-hole display and quad cameras as its key highlights. It’s also the second phone after the Redmi Note 9 to feature the MediaTek Helio G85 SoC.
Redmi 10X 4G specifications and features
The Redmi 10X 4G comes with a 6.53-inch full HD+ punch-hole display with a 90 percent screen-to-body ratio and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone features a P2i splash-proof coating as well as IP53 certification for water and dust resistance. Ticking at the core of the smartphone is the MediaTek Helio G85 chipset. Redmi is offering the phone in two RAM options – 4GB and 6GB, both with 128GB storage.
The rear camera setup comprises a 48MP primary sensor, 8MP ultra-wide camera, 2MP macro-shooter, and 2MP depth sensor. The selfie snapper is a 13MP unit. The camera is backed by AI Scene recognition and comes with features like vlog mode for video, super night scene and more.
The Redmi 10X 4G is powered by a 5,020mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging. Lastly, the smartphone is also the first along with Redmi 10X 5G duo to boot the latest MIUI 12 based on Android 10 out of the box. For security, the phone offers a fingerprint scanner on the rear panel and face unlock.
Redmi 10X 4G price and availability
The Redmi 10X 4G is being sold at RMB 999 (~Rs 10,600) for the 4GB + 128GB version and RMB 1,199 (~Rs 12,700) for the 6GB + 128GB variant. Redmi is offering the handset in Ice Fog White, Sky Blue and Pine Morning Green colours. The smartphone is already up for sale in China.
