Redmi 12 5G spotted on NBTC, FCC and Indian BIS certifications ahead of launch; Could be a rebrand Redmi Note 12R

Redmi 12 5G has been certified by Thailand’s NBTC and the FCC certification platforms. The device has appeared with model number 23076RN8DY in the databases of both certification sites. However, the NBTC listing confirms that the device will have the “Redmi 12 5G” marketing name.

At the same time, devices with model numbers 23076RN4BI and 23076PC4BI have emerged in the database of India’s BIS certification. These model numbers belong to upcoming phones, such as the Redmi 12 5G and the POCO M6 Pro 5G, respectively, for the Indian market. As per a previous tweet by tipster, Kacper Skrzypek, the Redmi 12 5G / POCO M6 Pro 5G will be a rebranded version of the Redmi Note 12R (model number 23076RA4BC) that launched in June in China.

To sum up, the Redmi 12 5G has been approved by certification platforms, such as the NBTC, the FCC, and the BIS. It was also spotted at Singapore’s IMDA earlier this month. Among these, only the FCC listing revealed a few details about the Redmi 12 5G. As per the FCC listing, the device will come with specs like a 5,000mAh battery, Bluetooth, NFC, dual-band Wi-Fi, and 5G (n5 / n7 / n38 / n41 / n66 / n77 / n78 bands).

While the POCO M6 Pro 5G is expected to release in India, there is no word on its global variant yet. Here is a look at what to expect from the specifications of the Redmi 12 5G / POCO M6 Pro 5G specifications.

The Redmi 12 5G / POCO M6 Pro 5G is expected to house a 6.79-inch IPS LCD panel with a centrally positioned punch-hole. It will offer a Full HD+ resolution of 2,460 x 1,080 pixels, a 20.5:9 aspect ratio, and a 90Hz refresh rate. The phone will boot to Android 13 with a layer of MIUI 14 on top.

The Redmi 12 5G / POCO M6 Pro 5G will come equipped with the all-new Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset and a 5,000mAh battery with 18W charging via a USB Type-C port. The device may offer up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage.

The device will have a 5-megapixel selfie camera. On the back, it will have a 50-megapixel primary camera, a 2-megapixel macro snapper, and an LED flash. The device will come equipped with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

The Redmi 12 5G and POCO M6 Pro 5G are expected to sport different rear designs. It is unclear what other differences there will be between the two phones in terms of specifications.
