Redmi has officially announced the 300W super-fast charging, and it claims that it can fast charge a 4100mAh battery from 0-100% in 5 minutes. This comes just as Realme announced Realme GT3 with 240W fast charging at MWC 2023 that goes from 0 to 100 in 9.5 minutes. With this announcement, Redmi becomes the brand with the fastest charging solution in the world.

The brand has demonstrated the day charging solution with a modified Redmi Note 12 Discovery Edition with a 4,100mAh battery (the original had a 4,300mAh battery). In a controlled environment, it took 2 minutes 11 seconds to reach 50%, while it took 5 minutes to charge the battery fully.
Although the company claims a charging wattage of 300W, it can be seen that the phone goes up to 290W during the charging process. This beats the company’s previous fast charging speeds of 210W of the Redmi Note 12 Discovery Edition.
This fast charging solution uses Double GaN technology and has “more than 50 safety protections” but still retains a small size.
We’re not sure if Redmi will release fast charging in any smartphone commercially or not. It hasn’t made any announcements regarding the fast charging solution. It is just a demo of the upcoming technology. The Redmi Note 12 Discovery Edition with 210W fast charging is yet to be launched globally, so the 300W charging has time to come to the market.
