Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has launched yet another Redmi smartphone in India dubbed as Redmi 4. It is the third Redmi device launched by the company in India this year after launching Redmi Note 4 and Redmi 4A. The phone will be available for purchase starting 23 May exclusively on Amazon and Mi.com. It comes in two colour options – Gorgeous Black and Elegant Gold.
Talking about the design, the Redmi 4 gets a full-metal unibody design with anodised high gloss aluminum separation lines. Specs wise, the Redmi 4 puts on a 5-inch HD display with 2.5D curved glass on top. Under the hood, the phone is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 processor. The phone comes in three different variants – 2GB RAM and 16GB storage, 3GB RAM and 32GB storage, and the top model with 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The phone further supports a Hybrid SIM slot for MicroSD card up to 128GB.
For photography, the phone sports a 13-megapixel primary camera with PDAF and a LED flash on the rear panel. Up front, the phone flaunts a 5-megapixel snapper for capturing selfies. Unlike Redmi 3S, all the variants of Redmi 4 houses a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner which the company claims to unlock the device in 0.3 seconds. On connectivity front, the device gets all the standard features such as 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Micro-USB port, and 3.5mm audio jack.
Coming to the pricing, the 2GB/16GB variant is priced at Rs 6,999, the 3GB/32GB comes at Rs 8,999, whereas the 4GB/64GB carries a price tag of Rs 10,999.
At the event, the company has also launched its first Mi Router 3C in India. Xiaomi is also venturing into different consumer technology products for a long time now. But, from past couple of months, the company has also launched these products in Indian market too. Earlier, the company launched Mi Air Purifier 2, Mi VR Play and now it has added Mi Router 3C to its lineup of Smart Devices.
The Mi Router 3C features 4 antenna bands and gets a speed up to 300 Mbps. The company also claims it can connect to 64 devices at a moment. It can be controlled via Xiaomi’s Mi WiFi app through which users can monitor the bandwidth, connected devices in real time. The Mi Router 3C has 64MB RAM and has a Wi-Fi range of 80 metres. It carries a price tag of Rs 1,199 and is up for pre-order starting today on Mi Home app.
