Xiaomi’s sub-brand, Redmi launched the dual-camera variant of the Redmi 8A (review) aptly called the Redmi 8A Dual in India back in February. At the time of the launch, Redmi was offering the 8A Dual smartphone in two configurations – 2GB + 32GB and 3GB + 32GB. Now, the company has launched a third variant of the device in the Indian market.
The latest variant of the Redmi 8A Dual comes with 3GB RAM and 64GB expandable storage. The latest model is now the top-tier variant in the Redmi 8A series. Apart from the storage, the rest of the spec sheet of the new launch is identical to the standard Redmi 8A Dual.
Redmi 8A Dual 3GB +64GB specifications and features
To recap on the spec sheet, the Redmi 8A Dual comes with a 6.22-inch HD+ display with a waterdrop notch. The IPS panel features a layer of Corning’s Gorilla Glass 5 on top. Ticking at the core of the smartphone is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 processor with 3GB RAM and 64GB expandable storage. The phone boots MIUI 11 interface based on Android 9 Pie. Powering the handset is a beefy 5,000mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging.
In the optics department, the smartphone comes packing a dual-camera setup on the back comprising a 13-megapixel primary sensor backed by a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The waterdrop notch on the front houses an 8-megapixel shooter for selfies and video calling.
The connectivity options on the device include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, dual SIM support, and GPS. Other features include a P2i coating for water resistance and support for up to 512GB microSD cards.
Redmi 8A Dual 3GB + 64GB price in India
The Redmi 8A Dual 3GB + 64GB variant has been priced at Rs 8,999 and will go on sale on June 15th at 12pm through Mi.com, Amazon and retail outlets. The 2GB + 32GB and 3GB + 32GB models are now retailing for Rs 7,499 and Rs 7,999 after the GST hike.
