Redmi 8A Dual with 6.22-inch display and dual cameras launched in India, prices start at Rs 6,499

Last year, Xiaomi introduced its latest Redmi 8 series smartphone called the Redmi 8A in the Indian market. Today, the Chinese tech giant has expanded the series by launching the Redmi 8A Dual in the country. As its name suggests, the latest Redmi series model features a dual primary camera setup on the back. Just like the Redmi 8, the Redmi 8A Dual also has a waterdrop notch above the screen, slim bezels on the sides, and a tad thick chin. Apart from the rear cameras, the rest of the specs of the Redmi 8A Dual are the same as the Redmi 8A model.

Talking about the cameras first, the Redmi 8A Dual has a 13-megapixel primary camera on the back with an aperture of f/2.2. The AI-powered main sensor supports phase detection autofocus. The main sensor is accompanied by a 2MP shooter that has an aperture of f/2.4. The device supports full HD video recording at 30fps and 720p at 30fps. For selfies and video calling, the handset has an 8MP shooter on the front with an aperture of f/2.0.

As for the other specs, the Redmi 8A Dual has a 6.22-inch HD+ IPS display with a layer of Corning’s Gorilla Glass 5 on top. Under the hood, the phone has a 1.95GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 processor. The handset comes in two RAM and storage configurations – 2GB + 32GB and 3GB + 32GB. The connectivity features include 4G LTE, dual-SIM slots, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB Type-C, and A-GPS. Lastly, a 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support keeps the phone running.

Redmi 8A Dual price in India

The Redmi 8A Dual comes in two RAM and storage configurations – 2GB + 32GB and 3GB + 32GB. The former is priced at Rs 6,499, while the latter is being offered for Rs 6,999. The phone will go on sale from February 18th, and will be available from Mi.com, Amazon, and Mi Home stores.

Apart from the Redmi 8A Dual, the company has also launched the first Redmi-branded power banks in India. The Redmi Power Bank comes in 10,000mAh and 20,000mAh battery capacity variants, which are priced at Rs 799 and Rs 1,499 respectively. They will also be available from February 18th on Mi.com.
