Xiaomi has unveiled the Redmi 8A Pro smartphone in Indonesia. The Pro model has arrived as an enhanced version of the Redmi 8A phone. The handset is equipped with an AI powered dual camera setup on its rear. Another notable feature of the phone is that it comes with support 18W fast charging for its humungous battery. The Redmi 8A Pro is not an entirely new phone. It is the rebranded version of the Redmi 8A Dual phone that was announced in February in India.

The Redmi 8A Pro has a 6.22-inch IPS LCD display panel with a waterdrop notch and HD+ resolution. The screen is protected by Gorilla Glass 5 panel. The rear shell of the phone has a splash-resistant coating.
The Snapdragon 439 mobile platform is at the helm of the Redmi 8A Pro. The device comes with 2GB and 3GB of LPDDR3 RAM and 32GB of eMMC v5.1 storage. There is a microSD card slot onboard for expanding the storage further.
The Redmi 8A Pro has a front camera of 8-megapixels with f/2.0 aperture. The back panel of the phone features a dual camera setup with an LED flash. It includes a PDAF assisted a 13-megapixel primary lens with f/2.2 aperture and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The Redmi 8A Pro comes with support for Google Lens, portrait mode and full HD video recording at 30fps.
The Redmi 8A Pro is backed by a 5,000mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging through USB-C. The handset is loaded with Android 10 that is overlaid MIUI 11. The connectivity features available on the device are dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, wireless FM radio and a 3.5mm audio jack. It lacks a fingerprint sensor and relies on face unlock for security.

The Redmi 8A Pro has landed in Indonesia with a starting price of RP 1,549,000 (Rs 7,100). It can be bought in three colours such as Sky White, Sea Blue and Midnight Grey. The handset comes with a 24-month warranty in the country.
