Last month, Xiaomi announced the Redmi Note 9 4G alongside its 5G versions in China. The Note 9 4G is a different device than any of the Redmi Note 9 series that debuted earlier this year in India. Recent reports have claimed that the smartphone will be coming to India with the new moniker of Redmi 9 Power. Tipster Mukul Sharma has claimed that the smartphone will go official in India on December 15th.
Motorola is announcing the Moto G9 Power on December 8th in India. The Redmi 9 Power moniker suggests that it could be arriving as a rival to the Motorola smartphone.
Redmi 9 Power specifications and features (expected)
Since the Redmi 9 Power will be a rebranded version of China’s Redmi Note 9 4G, it may arrive with the same specifications. The Redmi Note 9 4G is fitted with a 6.53-inch IPS LCD panel with a dewdrop notch. The screen delivers a 19.5:9 aspect ratio and full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels. It has an 8-megapixel selfie camera. At the rear, there’s a 48-megapixel main shooter, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. A massive 6,000mAh battery is present under the hood of the phone, which carries support for 18W fast charging. The phone also supports reverse charging. For security, it features a side-facing fingerprint scanner.
Redmi 9 Power pricing (expected)
The Redmi 9i, Redmi 9A, Redmi 9, and Redmi 9 Prime are the RedmI 9 series that are already available in the India market. Among these, the Helio G80 powered Redmi 9 Prime is the most powerful device in the series.
Its highest variant is priced at Rs 10,999. In China, the Redmi Note 9 4G carries a starting price of RMB 999 (~Rs 11,300). This pricing suggests that Redmi 9 Power’s base variant may cost Rs 10,999 in India.
