Today, Xiaomi India announced the all-new Redmi 9 Power mid-range phone. It has arrived as the fifth member of the Redmi 9 family that includes phones like the Redmi 9A, Redmi 9i, Redmi 9, and Redmi 9 Prime. The Redmi 9 Power is a slightly modified version of the Redmi Note 9 4G phone that went official in China in November.

The Redmi 9 Power comes with a full HD+ display with a waterdrop notch and it is fueled by a massive battery that carries support for fast charging. Some other exciting key features include 48-megapixel quad cameras and a Snapdragon 662 chipset.

The Redmi 9 Power features a splash-proof body with rubberised ports and corrosion-proof ports. It features a 6.53-inch IPS LCD display that comes with a Full HD+ resolution of 1,080 x 2,340 pixels, 400nits brightness, and Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The display notch serves as a home for its 8-megapixel selfie camera.

The rear shell of the Redmi 9 Power is fitted with a quad-camera setup that is led by a 48-megapixel primary camera with f/1.8 aperture. It is assisted by an 8-mgeapixel ultra-wide lens with a 120-degree FOV, a 2-megapixel macro camera, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The only difference between the Redmi 9 Power and China’s Redmi Note 9 4G is that the latter comes with a 48-megapixel triple camera system.

The Snapdragon 662 mobile platform drives the Redmi 9 Power with up to 6GB LPPDR4x RAM. The phone offers users up to 128GB of UFS 2.2 bulti-in storage. There is a dedicated microSD card slot on the phone for more storage. The phone runs MIUI 12 based on Android 10.

The Redmi 9 Power houses a massive 6,000mAh battery. The retail package of the phone features a 22.5W fast charger. The handset can be used as a power bank to charge other devices using the reverse wired charging feature.

For security, the Redmi 9 Power offers features like AI face unlock and a side-facing fingerprint reader.  The Redmi phone provides users with other features like dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, IR blaster, Hi-Res Audio, stereo speakers, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Redmi 9 Power price in India

The Redmi 9 Power has arrived in India in two models such as 4GB RAM + 64GB storage and 4GB RAM + 128GB storage. They are priced at Rs 10,999 and Rs 11,999, respectively. It can be bought in colours like Mighty Black, Blazing Blue, Fiery Red, and Electric Green. The handset will be for purchase through, Mi Home, and Amazon India starting from December 21st.
