Xiaomi has launched the Redmi 9 Power in India as the rebranded Redmi Note 9 4G, which was announced in China earlier. However, unlike the Redmi Note 9 4G, the Redmi 9 Power comes with a 48-megapixel quad-camera setup on the back instead of triple cameras, along with different RAM/storage configurations. All other specifications of the handset remain the same.
The Redmi 9 Power price in India starts at Rs 10,999 for the base variant. The phone features an FHD+ display, 6,000mAh battery, and powerful cameras. The smartphone will compete with Micromax In Note 1 and POCO M2 in India. Let’s find out how it fares.

Redmi 9 Power vs Micromax In Note 1 vs POCO M2: price in India
Xiaomi has launched the Redmi 9 Power in two variants – 4GB RAM + 64GB storage and 6GB RAM + 128GB storage. These variants will retail at Rs 10,999 and Rs 11,999, respectively. The smartphone can be picked from Mi.com, Mi Homes, and Amazon India starting December 21st. The phone is available in Mighty Black, Blazing Blue, Fiery Red, and Electric Green colours.
The Micromax In Note 1 only offers 4GB RAM but two storage configurations – 64GB and 128GB. The former is priced at Rs 10,999 and the 128GB model retails at Rs 12,499. The phone can be purchased from Micromax’s official website or Flipkart. It’s available in green and white colourways.
Lastly, the POCO M2 also offers the same 64GB + 128GB storage configurations, but higher a 6GB RAM for both variants. The base variant is priced at Rs 10,499 and the 128GB storage version costs Rs 11,499. The smartphone is available in Slate Blue, Brick Red and Pitch Black colours. It can be purchased on Flipkart.

The Redmi 9 Prime features a waterdrop notch display measuring 6.53-inches. The IPS LCD panel offers a screen resolution of 2,340 x 1,080 pixels, 20:9 aspect ratio, and 400nits of peak brightness. The screen is protected by a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
The POCO M2 also features a 6.5-inch IPS LCD panel with FHD+ resolution and waterdrop notch. The Micromax In Note 1 wins this round as it features a larger 6.67-inch screen with punch-hole cutout and FHD+ resolution.

The Redmi 9 Power is the odd one out here with the 11nm Snapdragon 662 processor at its core, while the other two feature Helio G-series chipsets. The Snapdragon 662 processor is backed by up to 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. In the software department, the Redmi 9 Power boots MIUI 12 based on Android 10.
Coming to the Micromax In Note 1, the handset features a 12nm octa-core MediaTek Helio G85 processor. The phone features 4GB RAM and up to 128GB storage. As for the software, it boots stock Android 10.
Lastly, the POCO M2 is powered by the MediaTek Helio G80 processor, which is simply the Helio G85 with a very slightly underclocked GPU. However, the smartphone offers the highest RAM (6GB) among the three with up to 128GB storage. The handset boots MIUI 11 based on Android 10 with POCO launcher on the top.
The Snapdragon 662 is a capable chipset and is more battery efficient. However, the Helio G85 and G80 are more performance-oriented with HyperEngine Game technology. Thanks to the Helio G80 and higher 6GB RAM, POCO M2 wins this round.

The Micromax In Note 1 is for those who want an immersive display for video streaming and a higher resolution selfie camera. In the end, it boils down to the user preference.
