Xiaomi is set to introduce a bunch of new devices in India. Last month, we saw the arrival of a couple of new phones from the Chinese smartphone maker. The POCO M3 went official in the global markets and the Redmi Note 9 4G, Note 9 5G, and Note 9 Pro 5G were announced in China. Fresh information reveals that some of these devices will be arriving in India, albeit with different monikers.
Fresh information reveals that the Redmi Note 9 4G may break cover in India as the Redmi 9 Power. It has also been found that the Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G could be heading to India as the Xiaomi Mi 10i. The country is also likely to receive the POCO M3 handset. In addition, the Redmi Note 9 5G is heading to some markets as the Redmi Note 9T.
The new monikers have appeared on various platforms like Google Support Devices list, Google Play Console, and the FCC. Before reading ahead, one should know that the Xiaomi phones debuting in China, India, and global markets have C, I, and G mentioned at the end of their model numbers.
POCO M3, Redmi Note 9 4G, Redmi 9 Power, and Redmi 9T
The POCO M3 that debuted in global markets has model numbers M2010J19CG and M2010J19CT. Its Indian variant with model number M2010J19CI has appeared in the Google Supported Devices list, which hints at its impending launch in the country.
The Redmi Note 9 4G that debuted in China last month has the M2010J19SC model number. Its Indian variant with model number M2010J19SI is mentioned in the Google Supported Devices list and Google Play Console. This indicates that China’s Redmi Note 9 4G will head to India as the Redmi 9 Power.
It was recently found through an FCC listing that a variant of the POCO M3 that has the M2010J19SG model number will debut as the Redmi 9T in some markets. Based on the FCC and Google Play Console listings, it can be said that the POCO M3, Redmi Note 9 4G (Redmi 9 Power for India), and Redmi 9T are identical phones in terms of specs and they only differ in the camera department.
The POCO M3 has a triple camera system with a 48-megapixel main camera and a pair of 2-megapixel sensors. The triple camera setup of the Redmi Note 9 4G (Redmi 9 Power) includes a 48-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. On the other hand, the Redmi 9T has a quad-camera setup featuring a 48-megapixel main camera, an 8-megapixel superwide lens, and a pair of 2-megapixel lenses.
Hence, the Redmi 9 Power for India is expected to arrive with specs like a 6.53-inch FHD+ display, Snapdragon 662 chipset, an 8-megapixel front camera, and a 6,000mAh battery with 18W charging support.
Xiaomi Mi 10i could be rebranded Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G for India
In September, Xiaomi launched the Xiaomi Mi 10T, Mi 10T Pro, and Mi 10T Lite in global markets. A modified version of the Mi 10T Lite (M2007J17G model number) with a new 108-megapixel camera was announced as the Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G (M2007J17C model number) in China. The unannounced Xiaomi Mi 10i phone with M2007J17I found listed at the Google Supported Devices and Google Play Console shows that it could be heading to India as the rebranded version of the Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G.
The Xiaomi Mi 10i for India is expected to arrive with specs like a 6.67-inch FHD+ 120Hz display, Snapdragon 750G, 108-megapixel quad cameras, a 16-megapixel selfie camera, and a 4,820mAh battery with 33W fast charging support.
Redmi Note 9T could be rebadged Redmi Note 9 5G
Certification platforms in Thailand and Malaysia have certified a new phone called Redmi Note 9T with M2007J22G. It seems to be a global version of China’s Redmi Note 9 5G.
At present, it is unclear whether the Redmi Note 9T will be releasing in India. The Note 9 5G has specs such as a 6.53-inch FHD+ screen, Dimensity 800U, 48-megapixel triple rear cameras, a 13-megapixel front camera, and a 5,000mAh battery with 18W charging support.
