Redmi 9A with Helio G25 and 5,000mAh battery launched in India: price, specifications

In June, Xiaomi took the covers off the Redmi 9A and Redmi 9C entry-level phones in Malaysia. The Redmi 9C was launched in India with the Redmi 9 moniker previous month. Today, the brand has announced the Redmi 9A as the cheapest Redmi 9 series phone in India.

The Redmi 9A comes with a large display and battery. It is the first phone in India to come with the budget MediaTek Helio G25 processor.

The Xiaomi Redmi 9A features a polycarbonate body. It houses a 6.53-inch IPS LCD panel with a waterdrop notch design. It features 720 x 1,600 pixels HD+ resolution, a 20:9 aspect ratio, and 400 nits brightness.

It is the first phone to feature the Helio G25 entry-level gaming focused chipset by MediaTek. The SoC is coupled with up to 3GB of LPPDR4x RAM and 32GB eMMC 5.1 storage. Users can make use of the dedicated microSD card slot for expanding the storage further. After the Redmi 9 that was launched last month, the Redmi 9A is the second smartphone that ships with MIUI 12 based on Android 10.

The rear panel of the Redmi 9A has a single 13-megapixel camera with f/2.2 aperture. It comes with features like PDAF, HDR, AI portrait mode, AI scene recognition, kaleidoscope effects, 30fps 1080p video recording, and LED flash. It has a 5-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.2 aperture, which offers features like HDR, Ai portrait mode, screen flash, and palm shutter.

The Redmi 9A has a 5,000mAh battery that supports 10W charging. The device lacks a fingerprint sensor but comes with support for face unlock. The phone comes with the usual connectivity features such as dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, micro-USB, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

Redmi 9A price in India

The Redmi 9A comes in two variants, 2GB + 32GB and 3GB + 32GB, priced at Rs 6,799 and Rs 7,499 respectively. The first sale of the phone will be carried out through, Mi Home stores, Amazon India and Xiaomi’s official retail partners at 12pm on September 4th. Buyers can avail the Redmi 9A in colour options like Midnight Black, Sea blue, and Nature Green.
