Last month, Pricebaba published an exclusive report revealing Xiaomi would be launching a new phone called the Redmi 9i in India. Today, the brand has officially unveiled the Redmi 9i through an online launch event. In terms of specs, the Redmi 9i resembles the Redmi 9A that was launched earlier this month. In comparison to the Redmi 9A, the Redmi 9i offers users more RAM and internal storage.
The Redmi 9i is a polycarbonate-clad smartphone that comes with a waterdrop notch display. It comes with a P2i nano-coating for splash resistance. Apart from higher RAM and storage, the device offers a large display and a big battery.
Redmi 9i specifications and features
The Redmi 9i has a 6.53-inch IPS LCD display with 720 x 1,600 pixels HD+ resolution and a 20:9 aspect ratio. The TUV Rheinland certified display can effectively filter harmful blue rays. The Helio G25 SoC is present under the hood of the smartphone. It comes with 4GB of LPPDR4x RAM and up to 128GB of storage.
There is a dedicated microSD card slot onboard for expanding the storage further. It is packed with a 5,000mAh battery that comes with 10W charging. The smartphone boots MIUI 12 on top of Android 10. In the absence of a fingerprint sensor, the AI face unlock is the only biometric recognition security feature on the device.
The rear panel of the Redmi 9i features a 13-megapixel main camera with f/2.2 aperture and an LED flash unit. The display notch houses an AI-driven 5-megapixel selfie camera. The phone offers users with other features like dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, microUSB and a 3.5mm headphone slot.
Redmi 9i price in India
The Redmi 9i is priced Rs 8,299 for the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage edition. The 4GB of RAM and 128GB storage variant costs Rs 9,299. The first sale of the Redmi 9i will be carried out on September 18th at 12 PM through platforms such as Mi.com, Mi Store, and Flipkart. Later, it will be also available through offline stores.
