Coincidentally, the same smartphone has been launched in India as Redmi 9i, with an additional 4GB + 64GB model as its base variant. The new launch shares all its specifications with the Redmi 9A except for the additional RAM and storage.

The brand has priced Redmi 9i starting at Rs 8,299 in the country. At this price point, the new launch takes on the Realme Narzo 10A in India. If you are in the market for a budget smartphone and wondering which to pick between these two, here’s a detailed comparison to help you make a decision.

The Redmi 9i is being sold in two variants in India –  4GB RAM + 64GB storage and  4GB RAM + 128GB storage. These variants are priced at Rs 8,299 and Rs 9,299, respectively. Redmi is offering the smartphone in the same colours as the Redmi 9A – Midnight Black, Sea blue, and Nature Green colours. The new phone will go on sale starting September 18th at 12pm through platforms such as Mi.com, Mi Store, and Flipkart.

Coming to the Narzo 10A, the smartphone is being sold in 3GB + 32GB and 4GB + 64GB configurations. The former retails at Rs 8,999, whereas the latter will set you back by Rs 9,999. The smartphone can be picked from realme.com and Flipkart. The Narzo 10A is being offered in So Blue or So White colours.

Coming to the display, the Redmi 9i is fitted with a 6.53-inch IPS LCD panel. The screen offers 1,600 x 720 pixels resolution and a 20:9 aspect ratio. The Realme Narzo 10A also has a 6.5-inch IPS LCD panel with similar specifications. What sets the two devices apart is the peak brightness being offered by the panel.

The Redmi 9i offers a peak brightness of 270 nits and in comparison, the Narzo 10A features a peak brightness of 480 nits. Clearly, the latter has an edge over the Redmi 9i in the display department.

As for the software, the Redmi 9i is one of the first smartphones to ship with MIUI 12 based on Android 10. The Realme Narzo 10A, on the other hand, boots the Realme UI based on Android 10 out of the box.
