Xiaomi sub-brand Redmi has been teasing the launch of a wireless audio product in India for some time now. The brand recently confirmed that it will launch a pair of TWS earphones in India on May 26th. Earlier, the new launch was speculated to be the Redmi AirDots or AirDots S.
Xiaomi has now announced the Redmi Earbuds S in India, and it marks the debut of Redmi in the truly wireless earbuds segment in the country. Going by the design and model number, the Earbuds S appear to be the rebranded Redmi AirDots S for India. Launched with an affordable price tag, the Redmi Earbuds S will compete with the likes of Realme Buds Air Neo in the country.

Coming to the specifications of the Redmi Earbuds S, the truly wireless earbuds feature an in-ear design and come with a charging case. The Redmi Earbuds S boast of an IPX4 rating, which means they are sweat and splash resistant and ideal for workouts. Redmi Earbuds S also feature a lightweight design with each earbud weighing 4.1g.
As for the battery, each earbud of the Redmi Earbuds S houses a 43mAh cell that delivers 4 hours of playback on a single charge. Additionally, the earbuds offer 12 hours of battery life with the charging case. According to Xiaomi, the case takes about 90 minutes to charge to 100 percent.
There’s a low latency gaming mode with wireless latency of 122ms, which ensures minimal delay between audio transmission and output. Other features include a multi-functional button, Environmental Noise Cancellation (ENC) and Bluetooth 5.0. The button can be used to receive or end calls, play or pause music, summon voice assistants and activate a dedicated gaming mode.
Redmi Earbuds S price in India
The Redmi Earbuds S are priced at Rs 1,799 in India and will be up for grabs on Mi.com, Amazon India, Mi Home and Mi Studio. The first sale of the truly wireless earphones will kick off on May 27th starting at 12pm.
