Redmi G gaming laptop with 144Hz display and 10th-gen Intel Core i7 SoC launched: price, specifications

Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi entered the laptop market last year in China. Since then, it has been consistently introducing new models in its home market. Today, the company took the covers off its very first gaming-centric Redmi G notebook series.

The Redmi G gaming notebook comes with a large-sized screen flanked by slim bezels. The gaming-focused laptop is equipped with a high refresh rate display and top-notch graphics. The Redmi G promises stellar performance is it features the latest 10th generation Intel processors.

Redmi G gaming notebook debuts with a 144Hz refresh rate display

The Redmi G notebook features a 16.1-inch full HD display that supports up to a 144Hz refresh rate. It offers a 178-degree wide viewing angle and supports 100 percent sRGB color gamut. With thin bezels around the display, the Redmi G offers a screen-to-body ratio of 81 percent. There is a 1-megapixel camera HD camera with a digital array microphone for video calling.

The Redmi G gamebook is fueled by 10th generation Core i7 and i5 processors and it offers GeForce GTX 1650 Ti graphics. When it comes to storage, the notebook comes with 512GB PCIe SSD storage and it has an extra slot for adding an M.2 PCIe / SSD drive. For heat dissipation, the notebook is equipped with a “Hurricane Cooling 2.0” system.

The Redmi G gaming laptop features a full-size backlit keyboard with an independent numeric keypad. The intuitive trackpad supports gesture control functions. The device comes preloaded with Windows 10. The gamebook is backed by a 55Whr battery that offers up to 6 hours of web browsing and online HD video playback of up to 4 hours. It is fitted with a pair of 2-watt speakers that are powered by DTS:X Ultra audio technology.

The Redmi G gaming laptop supports Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1. When it comes to ports, the Redmi G offers options such as a USB 2.0 port, a pair of USB 3.2 ports, Mini DisplayPort, full-size HDMI port, USB Type-C, Ethernet, 3.5mm audio jack, and power connector. The metal-bodied laptop weighs around 2.5 kg.

The Redmi G gamebook comes in three variants – Core i5-10200H + GTX1650 + 60z display for RMB 4,999 (~Rs 53,850), Core i5-10300H + GTX 1650 Ti + 144Hz display for RMB 5,799 (~Rs 62,450), and Core i7-10750H + GTX 1650 Ti + 144Hz display for RMB 6,599 (~Rs 71,00). The device comes in a Shadow Black colour and is now up for purchase in China. There is no word on the global availability of the notebook at present.
