Redmi K20 now receiving Android 10 update in India

Google had announced Android 10 OS in September last year. A few weeks ago, Xiaomi started rolling out the latest software update for the standard Redmi K20 in China. To recall, the smartphone was launched in India back in July last year. Now the Redmi K20 has started receiving Android 10 update in the country. However, it is being rolled out via OTA to a select few users for now, so it may take time to reach your device. You can check the update by going to Settings > About Phone > System Update. In case you haven’t received it, you can avoid waiting by downloading the ZIP file and manually flashing it.

The Android 10 update for Redmi K20 arrives with model number V11.0.1.0.QFJEUXM and the file size weighs 2.3GB. The update comes with stable MIUI, December 2019 security patch and increased system security. It fixes the bug that couldn’t open notification settings in the Notification Shade in Second Space. The update also fixes overlapping images in scrolling screenshots. The Android 10 update optimises the localised payment security icon for India. It also offers other features like enhanced privacy settings and location control, gesture navigations, smart replies and more. 

Redmi K20 specifications

To recall the technical specs, the Redmi K20 features a 6.39-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with an in-screen fingerprint scanner. It offers features like Always-on display, DC Dimming and eye protection mode. The smartphone flaunts a gradient back panel and can be availed in three colour options – Carbon Black, Flame Red and Glacier Blue. 

The Redmi K20 sports a triple rear camera setup comprising of a 48MP Sony IMX582 sensor, 8MP telephoto lens, and 13MP ultra-wide-angle camera. The phone offers a 20MP selfie camera in a pop-up camera module. 

In terms of internals, the Redmi K20 is powered by the Snapdragon 730 SoC. It is available in two configurations w.r.t RAM and storage i.e. 6GB + 64GB and 6GB + 128GB. The smartphone is backed by a 4,000mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging. It runs MIUI 11 based on Android 10.
