Xiaomi has announced that the upcoming Redmi K20 and K20 Pro will be up for pre-booking much ahead of the July 17th launch of these smartphones. The company is organising a one-of-its-kind ‘Alpha Sale’ for the upcoming Redmi K20 series of smartphones on both Mi.com and Flipkart. During the Alpha Sale, users will be able to block a Redmi K20 or K20 Pro in advance.

Those who wish to pre-book their Redmi K20 or Redmi K20 Pro through the Alpha Sale will have to shell out Rs 855 as a token amount on either Mi.com or Flipkart. Interested fans will need to login to the website of their choice at 12pm on July 12th to pre-book. After pre-booking, the final payment can be made on July 17th, when the Redmi K20 series go official. In case you change your mind and don’t purchase the booked phone during the first sale, the token amount will be refunded to your Mi.com account. Flipkart users, on the other hand, will be able to use the amount to make some other purchase on the website.
Xiaomi Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro specifications
Both the Redmi K20 and K20 Pro ship with FHD+ AMOLED displays measuring 6.39-inches, which offers an impressive screen-to-body ratio of 91.9 percent. The company has managed to achieve this feat by opting for a pop-up selfie camera and in-display fingerprint scanner. In the performance department, the K20 flaunts the Snapdragon 730 SoC, whereas, the Pro variant gets the flagship Snapdragon 855 SoC. Both smartphones will be offered with RAM up to 8GB and internal storage up to 256GB.
In the camera department, both smartphones feature identical set of cameras. The rear panel of Redmi K20 Pro is home to a 48MP main Sony IMX586 sensor accompanied by a 13MP super-wide-angle lens and an 8MP telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom. The primary camera is Sony IMX582 sensor on the standard variant, while the remaining two lenses remain the same. As for selfies, both phones offer 20MP snapper that elevates every time the selfie mode is toggled on.
Lastly, a 4,000mAh battery rounds up the spec sheet of these handsets. However, the Redmi K20 features slower 18W rapid charging compared to Pro variant’s faster 27W charging.
