Redmi K30 launching in China on December 10th; will offer dual selfie cameras

In May, Redmi introduced the Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro smartphones in China. In October, the company revealed that the successor to these phones, the Redmi K30, will be arriving with dual-mode 5G support and a display with a punch-hole design. Last week, some live shots of the purported Redmi K30 were leaked along with some specs. Today, the company has officially confirmed that it will be launching the Redmi K30 in China at an event on December 10th. The launch poster that has been released by the brand shows that the Redmi K30 will come with two selfie cameras that will be placed in a large hole on the top right corner of the screen.

Redmi K30 specifications and features

Once again, Redmi has confirmed that the Redmi K30 series will offer 5G connectivity. The phones will support standalone (SA) and non-standalone (NSA) sub-6GHz 5G networks. The Chinese manufacturer has not revealed any other information regarding the specifications of the Redmi K30 at the moment.

Redmi K30 December 10 Launch Event

Rumours have it that while the Redmi K30 5G will be breaking cover at the event in December, and the Redmi K30 Pro 5G with flagship specifications will be made official in early 2020. It is very likely that the company will share information on the Redmi K30 Pro at the Redmi K30 launch event in the coming month.

The live shots of the purported Redmi K30 cropped up last week revealed that its display will support full HD+ resolution. The phone is expected to offer the taller aspect ratio of 20:9. It is also revealed that the screen of the handset will offer a high screen refresh rate of 120Hz. The bezels surrounding the display of the phone will be quite thin, which indicate that it will offer an impressive screen-to-body ratio.

The Redmi K30 is expected to be fueled by a Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC with the Adreno 618 graphics. Currently, this GPU is available with the Snapdragon 730 and 730G processors from the US-based chipmaker, so we can expect the next-gen Redmi phone to be fuelled by either of these two chipsets. Its worth mentioning that some rumours have claimed that the Redmi K30 could be featuring the upcoming Snapdragon 735 5G chipset instead.

Probably, the Snapdragon 735 5G chipset will come with the same Adreno 618 graphics. The base variant of the Redmi K30 is expected to have a native storage capacity of 64 GB. The phone is rumoured to be based on the latest MIUI 11 custom ROM from the brand. Lastly, it is being speculated that the Redmi K30 will be arriving with support for 30W fast charging.
