In December 2019, Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi had announced the Redmi K30 mid-range phone in 4G and 5G variants in China. In February, Redmi had confirmed that it will be launching the Redmi K30 Pro 5G in its home market in March. Today, the Chinese manufacturer took to Weibo to confirm that the Redmi K30 Pro 5G will be announced on March 24th. The company has started teasing the features of the Redmi K30 Pro 5G. Soon after revealing the Redmi K30 Pro 5G launch date, the brand released a poster which showcases its rear design. It also confirmed that the phone recorded a score of 610,296 on AnTuTu.
Redmi’s General Manager Lu Weibing had recently revealed on Weibo that the firm will be announcing other new products at the Redmi K30 Pro launch event. Some reports have claimed that the first Redmi branded fitness band and a new RedmiBook will be unveiled at the March 24th event.
The official poster of the Redmi K30 Pro 5G has revealed that it will be sporting a slightly different rear design than the Redmi K30 5G phone. The rear side of the Redmi K30 5G had a vertical quad camera setup surround by a ring-like design. The Redmi K30 Pro 5G official poster reveals that it has a circular camera module housing four cameras inside. An LED flash is placed below the camera housing.
The “64MP” text is imprinted at the centre of the camera setup of the Redmi K30 Pro 5G. It is expected to feature the same 64-megapixel Sony IMX686 primary lens which is available on the Redmi K30 5G phone. The smartphone is expected to arrive in a standard version and a camera-centric version dubbed as Redmi K30 Pro 5G Zoom Edition. The latter is rumoured to be equipped with optical image stabilization capabilities for the main sensor and telephoto lens.
There is a 3.5mm audio jack, a pop-up selfie camera module and another component that appears to be infrared sensor. The rear shell seems to be made out of glass. As revealed last month, the phone will be sporting a full-screen AMOLED panel with an in-screen fingerprint reader.
Redmi K30 Pro 5G specifications and features
Past reports have revealed that the Redmi K30 Pro 5G phone will be featuring a full HD+ 6.67-inch AMOLED display. It is poised to debut as the cheapest Snapdragon 865 SoC phone. As far as performance is concerned, Redmi revealed that it has achieved an impressive score of 610,296 on AnTuTu benchmarks. The phone will be come equipped with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.0 storage. MIUI 11 based on Android 10 will come preloaded on the phone.
The Redmi K30 Pro 5G could be backed by a 4,700mAh battery. The handset may support 33W fast charging. It may hit the Chinese markets with a starting price of around RMB 3,000 (~Rs 31,700).
