Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi is all set to introduce the successor to the Redmi K20 smartphone in the near future. Ahead of the launch, the company has teased some specifications of the upcoming Redmi K30. The brand’s GM Lu Weibing has revealed an early look at the next-gen Redmi K series offering, apart from revealing a couple of its specs. It looks like the Redmi K30 will be a massive upgrade to its predecessor. It will be the first smartphone in the Redmi series to flaunt 5G connectivity.
Redmi K30 specifications and features
As you can see from the images, the Redmi K30 will also be the first smartphone from the company to sport a punch-hole display. The handset will have a cutout on the top right side of the screen to accommodate two selfie cameras. The 5G-enabled phone will have support for SA and NSA networks. That means that the device will use 5G for data and 4G for non-data duties like calling. Unfortunately, the company hasn’t revealed the other specs of the Redmi K30. As for the pricing, Lu Weibing has mentioned that the Redmi K30 will be the most affordable 5G smartphone in the world.
The Redmi K30’s predecessor, the Redmi K20 was launched in India in July this year. The Snapdragon 730 chipset-powered smartphone comes with an all-screen front, a pop-up selfie camera, a 7th-gen in-display fingerprint sensor, and 18W fast charging support. The device features a triple 48MP + 13MP + 8MP AI triple camera module at the rear and a 20MP front shooter. A 4,000mAh battery keeps the handset running.
The Redmi K20 is available in India in two RAM and storage configurations – 6GB + 64GB and 6GB + 128GB. The former model costs Rs 19,999, while the latter is being offered for Rs 23,999. The handset is available to buy across channels in the country.
