Redmi Note 12 series launch seems imminent, here’s what to expect

Redmi Note 12 series could launch in China soon. Recently, Lu Weibing, CEO of Redmi, took to Weibo to tease the arrival of the next-generation Note series of smartphones for its home market. Hence, it is being speculated that the company is now working on the launch of the Note 12 lineup.

Initially, the company may launch two Note branded models: the Redmi Note 12 Pro and Redmi Note 12 Pro+. There are some contradictory reports that have claimed that these devices could be called Redmi Note 11T and Note 11T Pro. Reliable Chinese tipster, Digital Chat Station recently claimed that the upcoming Note lineup will have “a distinctive industrial style, strong performance, and extended battery life.”

Recently, two new Redmi phones with model numbers 22041216C and 22041216UC were spotted at Chinese certification platforms such as TENAA and 3C. These listings have revealed key specifications of both smartphones. Rumours have it that these may debut soon as the Redmi Note 12 Pro and Note 12 Pro+, respectively.

The Redmi Note 12 is expected to arrive with a 6.6-inch AMOLED display and a 4,300mAh battery (rated value) with 67W fast charging support. On the other hand, the Note 12 Pro+ will feature a 6.6-inch display and a 4,980mAh battery (rated value) with 120W rapid charging support.

Both phones measure 163.64 x 74.29 x 8.8mm and are preinstalled with the Android 12 OS overlaid with MIUI 13. It is speculated that the devices will be powered by the Dimensity 1300 and Dimensity 8000 chipsets, respectively. Both phones may have up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Redmi is expected to announce its next Note-branded lineup as early as this month in China.
