Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi’s Note series has received tremendous response over the years. Every upcoming Note phone is highly anticipated and the new one in the line, the Note 5 is eagerly awaited too. Recently, a new version of the Note series has surfaced online, named as the Note 5A.
The Redmi Note 5A specifications along with its retail box was revealed by a Weibo user named Tenfar. The retail box seems very minimal just like other MI phones. It’s coloured red though unlike any other MI box, are we getting a new colour by Xiaomi?
As per the leaked specifications, the phone is all set to have a 5.5-inch Full HD display, just like every other Note series phone. It might also get the Snapdragon 625 SoC along with 4GB of RAM. Most probably, the internal storage will be of 64GB and it might come with a hybrid slot similar to other Note phones. Going by the specs, it seems that the 5A might be a toned down version of the Note 5.
The leaks also suggest that the Redmi Note 5A might come with a dual camera setup. There’ll be a 12MP OV12A10 sensor and a 13-megapixel OV12880 sensor. One of them will be a telephoto lens whereas the other will be a wide-angle lens. Both these cameras will work together to provide better zooming capabilities along with enhancing the image quality. Dual rear cameras have now become a major trend after it began featuring in the iPhone 7 Plus last year, the OnePlus 5 this year along with many other phones. For selfies and video calling, it might come with a 5MP front sensor.
If the Redmi Note 5A makes it to India, it will be pretty exciting to see a large-screen phone along with dual cameras in a budget range.
