Realme recently launched its Realme 5 (first impressions) and Realme 5 Pro (first impressions) in India, which are first quad-camera phone under Rs 10k and world’s first quad-camera phone with 48MP sensor respectively. In what seems like a knee-jerk reaction to these launches, Xiaomi has now permanently dropped the price of the select variants of its Redmi Note 7 Pro, Redmi Note 7s (review) and Redmi Y3 in India. All smartphones have received a price drop of Rs 1,000 effective immediately.
Redmi Note 7 Pro, Redmi Note 7s, and Redmi Y3 price drop in India
Xiaomi has reduced the price of 6GB RAM + 64GB storage variant of the Redmi Note 7 Pro to Rs 14,999. To jog your memory, the model was launched in India with a price tag of Rs 15,999. However, the price of the remaining two variants remains the same at Rs 13,999 and Rs 16,999 for 4GB + 64GB and 6GB + 128GB variants respectively.
Moving to the Redmi Note 7s, the smartphone that replaced the Note 7 in India and comes with a 48MP sensor on the back. The pricing of the phone now starts at Rs 9,999 instead of Rs 10,999. The 4GB + 64GB model of the smartphone is still retailing for Rs 12,999.
As for the Redmi Y3, the base variant is now retailing for Rs 8,999, which is Rs 1,000 lighter than the launch price. Once again, the phonemaker didn’t change the pricing of the higher-end variant, which is still Rs 11,999.
Realme 5 and 5 Pro price in India
Interestingly, Xiaomi announced the price drops on the same day of the Realme 5 series launch. The Realme 5 has been priced at Rs 9,999, Rs 10,999, and Rs 11,999 for the 3GB + 32GB, 4GB + 64GB, and 4GB + 128GB variants, respectively. On the other hand, the Pro variant will set you back by Rs 13,999 for the base variant. The 6GB + 64GB and 8GB + 128GB variants will retail for Rs 14,999 and Rs 16,999, respectively.
