When the Redmi Note 8 was launched in India, the base variant announced came with 4GB of RAM. However, a fresh report on 91mobiles has revealed that Xiaomi has introduced a new base model of the Note 8 for offline stores in the country. It comes with 3GB of RAM and carries a price tag of Rs 9,799. The Redmi Note 8 was initially launched in 4GB RAM + 64GB storage and 6GB RAM + 128GB storage models. These variants are priced at Rs 9,999 and Rs 12,999 respectively, and can be purchased through Amazon and Mi.com.
Redmi Note 8 specifications and features
The Redmi Note 8 has a full HD+ IPS LCD display that produces a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The front and rear sides of the phone are shielded by Gorilla Glass 5.
The Redmi Note 8 is driven by the Snapdragon 665 mobile platform. The rear side of the phone has a quad camera system that includes a 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 main lens, an ultrawide 8-megapixel sensor, a 2-megapixel macro camera and a 2-megapixel depth sensor, along with an LED flash. The Redmi Note 8 has a front 13-megapixel camera for shooting selfies.
Android 9 Pie with MIUI 10 runs on the Redmi Note 8. It has a rear-positioned fingerprint reader. The device is packed with a 4,000mAh battery that supports 18W rapid charging through USB Type-C. Neptune Blue, Moonlight White, Space Black and Nebula Purple are the colour editions of the Note 8.
