Redmi Note 8 Cosmic Purple variant launched in India, available from November 29th

Xiaomi has launched a new colour variant of its latest Redmi series smartphone called the Redmi Note 8 in India. The new colour model of the Redmi Note 8 is available in an attractive Cosmic Purple hue. The new variant will be available during the company’s Black Friday Sale starting from November 29th. The Chinese tech giant has launched the new colour variant soon after the brand announced that it has sold one million units of the Redmi Note 8 series phones within a month since the launch. The phone was released in the country in October alongside its higher-end sibling, the Redmi Note 8 Pro.

Redmi Note 8 specifications and features

To recap on the specs, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 is a mid-range offering with a 48-megapixel primary camera at the rear. The main shooter offers an aperture of f/1.75. It is accompanied by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera, a 2-megapixel macro snapper, and a 2-megapixel shooter for depth-sensing capabilities. The primary camera module is capable of recording 4K, full HD, and full HD slow-motion videos at 120fps. For selfies and video-calling, the handset is fitted with a 13-megapixel shooter on the front with f/2.0 aperture.

As for the other specs, the Redmi Note 8 has a 6.3-inch full HD+ display, and it boots Android 9 Pie-based MIUI 10 out of the box. Under the hood, the smartphone has an octa-core Snapdragon 665 processor from Qualcomm. The phone comes in two RAM and storage configurations – 4GB + 64GB and 6GB + 128GB. The connectivity features include 4G LTE, dual-SIM slots, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, USB Type-C port, and A-GPS with GLONASS. The other features include a waterdrop notch above the screen, a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, and a 4,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support.

The Redmi Note 8’s base variant with 4GB of RAM is priced at Rs 9,999, while the higher-end 6GB RAM is being offered for Rs 12,999. The phone is available on, Amazon, Mi Home stores, and via Xiaomi authorised stores pan India.
