Xiaomi has been steadily increasing the price of its smartphones. Now the Chinese smartphone maker has once again increased the price of the base variant of Redmi Note 8 i.e. 4GB + 64GB. This is the fifth time the brand has hiked the price of the device since its launch last October. To jog your memory, the smartphone debuted at a starting price of Rs 9,999.
This time the price of the Redmi Note 8 has been increased by Rs 500 from the previous price of Rs 11,999. The latest price is reflected on Mi.com and as for the offline market, 91mobiles reports that the new pricing will be effective from today.
Redmi Note 8 specifications and features
The Redmi Note 8 is a toned-down variant of the Redmi Note 8 Pro. It features a 6.3-inch FHD+ display with a waterdrop notch. The smartphone sports a vertically aligned camera setup at the top left corner comprising a 48MP main sensor, 8MP ultra-wide lens, 2MP macro and 2MP depth shooter. A 13MP sensor is fitted on the front for selfies. The Redmi Note 8 comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.
The Redmi Note 8 is powered by a Snapdragon 665 processor coupled with either 4GB or 6GB RAM. The former is paired with 64GB onboard storage while the latter offers 128GB internal memory. The smartphone is backed by a 4,000mAh battery unit with 18W fast charging support. Software-wise, the device runs on Android 10 with MIUI 10 on the top.
Redmi Note 8 price in India
The Redmi Note 8 4GB + 64GB variant now carries a price tag of Rs 12,499. Xiaomi hasn’t increased the price of 6GB + 128GB model. It still retails at Rs 14,499 in both online and offline markets.
