Redmi Note 8 Pro 64GB variant gets a Rs 1,000 price cut, now available for Rs 13,999

Xiaomi has quietly dropped the price of the base variant of the Redmi Note 8 Pro smartphone in India. The handset’s starting model was priced at Rs 14,999 in the country, but is now being offered for just Rs 13,999. This variant is available with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. The Redmi Note 8 Pro’s other variants with 6GB + 128GB and 8GB + 128GB are still being offered at the launch price tags of Rs 15,999 and Rs 17,999, respectively. It’s worth mentioning that while the Redmi Note 8 Pro’s price in India for the base variant has been dropped, the  Redmi Note 8 has received a small price hike of Rs 500.

The Redmi Note 8 Pro was introduced as the brand’s first phone with a 64MP primary camera at the rear. The phone utilises Samsung Bright GW1 64MP main camera on the back, which is aided by an 8MP 120-degree ultra-wide-angle shooter, a 2MP macro sensor, and a 2MP depth camera. For selfies and video calling, the device is accompanied by a 20MP shooter on the front. The rear cameras of the phoner are capable of recording 4K and 960-fps slow-mo videos.

Talking about the other specs, the Redmi Note 8 Pro has a 6.53-inch screen with full HD+ resolution. The display has a layer of Gorilla Glass 5. The device is powered by the MediaTek Helio G90T processor, which is aided by up to 8GB of RAM and up to 128GB of storage. Software-wise, the handset boots the Android 10-based MIUI 10 out of the box. For security, there’s a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. Under the hood, the device is backed by a beefy 4,500mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging.
