Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 8 Pro smartphones back in the month of August in China, and in October in India. Today, the company has announced that the combined sales of both the devices has hit a whopping 10 million figure globally. Clearly, the company has broken some existing records of its own with the Redmi Note 8 series. Let’s have a look at what the current Redmi Note lineup has been able to achieve.

redmi note 8 series 10 million sales crossed

It has just been around three months since the company launched the Redmi Note 8 series in China. That simply means that the Redmi Note 8 series has reached the 10 million global sales figure with almost one month to spare, if we compare its sales with that of the Redmi Note 7 series which took almost four months to achieve this feat.

The company further claims that it has been selling 110,000 units per day for three consecutive months. Furthermore, it sold over 1 million or 10 lakh units of Redmi Note 8 series in India alone last month.

To celebrate this achievement, the company is offering a flat RMB 100 discount on the Redmi Note 8 (6GB/128GB) in China, which is now selling for RMB 1,299 for a limited period of time. That variant, however, is still selling a bit cheaper in India at Rs 12,999.

Redmi Note 8 specifications and features

For those unaware, the Redmi Note 8 features a 6.39-inch FHD+ display with a resolution of 1,080 x 2,340 pixels and a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The aspect ratio is achieved thanks to the waterdrop notch at the top of the display. The device is available in five colour variants – Neptune Blue, Moonlight White, Space Black, Nebula Purple, Cosmic Purple.

Under the hood, the Redmi Note 8 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 chipset which is coupled with 3GB/4GB/6GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB/128GB of internal storage. The Indian variant of the Redmi Note 8 has scope for further expansion as it has a dedicated microSD card slot as well.

For photography, the Redmi Note 8 sports a quad rear camera setup (48MP + 8MP + 2MP + 2MP), and a 13MP selfie snapper finds its way embedded inside the waterdrop notch. We get a 4,000mAh battery with the Redmi Note 8.

As far as the Redmi Note 8 Pro is concerned, the device features a 6.53-inch FHD+ waterdrop notch display. The device features a Mediatek Helio G90T chipset which is coupled with 6GB/8GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB/256GB of internal storage. Just like the Redmi Note 8, the Redmi Note 8 Pro storage can also be further expanded. The device comes in the following colour variants – Black, Red, Blue, White, Deep Sea Blue, Midnight Blue, Electric Blue.

Moving on to the cameras of the device, the Redmi Note 8 Pro features a quad rear camera setup with a 64MP primary sensor. The front camera is also upgraded as it is a 20MP unit with the Redmi Note 8 Pro.

A big 4,500mAh battery fuels the Redmi Note 8 Pro. The battery supports up to 18W fast charging and the same is the case with the Redmi Note 8.
