Xiaomi sells 1 million Redmi Note 8 series units in a month

Xiaomi has announced that it has sold one million units of the Redmi Note 8 series in the Indian market. The company has achieved the target within a month of the launch of the Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 8 Pro in the country. The latest Redmi smartphones offer impressive camera features at pocket-friendly prices. While the Redmi Note 8 has a 48MP primary camera at the rear, the Redmi Note 8 Pro is the company’s first smartphone to flaunt a 64MP main shooter on the back. Both the handsets have four rear cameras, a waterdrop notch above the screen, and rear-mounted fingerprint sensors.

Redmi Note 8 specifications and features

To recap on the specs, the Redmi Note 8 features a 48MP f/1.75 main camera on the back. It is accompanied by an 8MP ultra-wide-angle shooter, a 2MP macro snapper, and a 2MP depth-sensing snapper. For selfies and video calling, there’s a 13MP camera on the front. As for the other specs, the Redmi Note 8 offers a 6.3-inch full HD+ display, and it is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor. The RAM and storage configurations include 4GB + 64GB and 6GB + 128GB. The other highlights include MIUI 10 based on Android 9 Pie and a 4,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support.

Redmi Note 8 Pro specifications and features

As for the Redmi Note 8 Pro, the phone has a 64MP main Samsung ISOCELL Bright GW1 camera on the back. The primary snapper is aided by an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a 2MP ultra-macro shooter, and a 2MP depth sensor. On the front, the device has a 20MP camera on the front. The phone has a 6.53-inch full HD+ display with Gorilla Glass 5 protection.

The Redmi Note 8 Pro is powered by MediaTek’s Helio G90T processor, which is aided by up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Just like the Redmi Note 8, the Redmi Note 8 Pro is also is based on Android 9 Pie-based MIUI 10 out of the box. The connectivity features are standard including 4G LTE, dual-SIM slots, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5, USB Type-C, and A-GPS. This one is fuelled by a massive 4,500mAh battery that also supports 18W fast charging.

Talking about the pricing, the Redmi Note 8’s price in India is Rs 9,999 for the 4GB model and Rs 12,999 for the 6GB variant. As for the Redmi Note 8 Pro, it costs Rs 14,999 for the 6GB RAM + 64GB storage variant, Rs 15,999 for 6GB + 128GB model, and Rs 17,999 for the 8GB + 128GB variant. The phone is available on, Amazon, Mi Home stores, and Xiaomi authorised stores across the country.
