Redmi Note 9 launch date in India set for July 20th

Xiaomi confirmed the launch of its Redmi Note 9 smartphone in India last week. The brand had launched the smartphone along with the Mi Note 10 Lite and Redmi Note 9 Pro a couple of months ago globally. Now, the company has revealed that the Redmi Note 9 will be launched in the country on July 20th.

The Redmi Note 9 features a quad camera setup, a 5,020mAh battery with 18W fast-charging support and a punch-hole design as its key highlights.

The launch date announcement comes from company’s India head Manu Kumar Jain on Twitter. Jain revealed that the upcoming smartphone will be launched in India on July 20th at 12pm. The smartphone also has a dedicated microsite up on Amazon where it will go on sale once launched.

To recap on the specifications of Redmi Note 9, the smartphone ships with a 6.53-inch full HD+ display with a punch-hole cutout. There is the MediaTek Helio G85 chipset at its core with up to 4GB of RAM and 128GB storage. The onboard storage can be further expanded up to 512GB via microSD card slot.

There is a quad-camera setup on the back comprising of a 48MP primary sensor, an 8MP wide-angle lens, a 2MP macro lens and a 2MP depth sensor. The punch-hole cutout on the front is housing 13MP snapper for selfie and video calling. The phone boots Android 10- based MIUI 11 out of the box and is powered by a 5,020mAh battery with 18W fast charging.

There is a fingerprint scanner on the back for security. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5, GPS + GLONASS, and USB Type-C port.
