Xiaomi India will be taking the covers off the Redmi Note 9 series tomorrow. While initial speculation suggested that the new lineup would include the Redmi Note 9 and Redmi Note 9 Pro, there have been some teasers from the company which point towards the existence of a smartphone named Redmi Note 9 Pro Max. While the details of the vanilla Note 9 and the Pro Max haven’t yet appeared, the Pro variant was recently spotted on the Geekbench benchmarking website and FCC certification platform. Also, the configuration of one of its models along with its colour options had appeared in a recent leak. Now, the entire specifications of the smartphone have been revealed.
Redmi Note 9 Pro specifications (Rumored)
The Redmi Note 9 Pro is expected to feature a 6.67-inch LCD display that will offer full HD+ resolution, as per the leaks. It will bear a tall aspect ratio of 20:9 and a refresh rate of 60Hz. The screen would be shielded by Gorilla Glass 5. The punch-hole present on the display will be home to a 16-megapixel selfie shooter.
The Note 9 Pro will be equipped with a quad camera setup on its rear. The official teasers have revealed that the phone has a square-shaped camera module on its back. It will likely include a 48-megapixel primary lens, an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens, a 5-megapixel macro lens and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The primary sensor of the phone is said to be the newer Samsung GM2 sensor. The Note 9 Pro will carry support for 960fps slow-motion video shooting.
It will be the company’s first smartphone to be powered by the all new Snapdragon 720G. The same SoC drives the recently-announced Realme 6 Pro. The device includes a 5,020mAh battery that will be coupled with an 18W charger. The handset will carry support for dual SIM cards and will have a dedicated slot for adding a microSD card. It will be sporting a side-mounted fingerprint reader.
The Redmi Note 9 Pro is expected to arrive in India in two models, one with 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage and another with 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage. The handset will be available in three colours, including Aurora Blue, Glacier White and Interstellar Black. The pricing of the Redmi Note 9 Pro is currently under wraps. Since the phone is yet to go official, readers are advised to take these specs with a grain of salt.
