Today, Xiaomi held a launch event to announce the Redmi Note 9T 5G and Redmi 9T mid-range phones. The former is a rebranded version of the Redmi Note 9 5G that was launched in China earlier. On the other hand, the Redmi 9T is already selling as the Redmi 9 Power in India.

The Redmi Note 9T 5G has arrived as the first Redmi Note series phone with 5G support in markets outside China. The Redmi Note 9T 5G and Redmi 9T are equipped with some exciting features like tall aspect ratio displays, 48-megapixel main camera, and they are packed with large-sized batteries that support fast charging.

The Redmi Note 9T 5G has a 6.53-inch IPS LCD screen with support for a Full HD+ resolution, a 19.5:9 aspect ratio, and a 90Hz refresh rate. The punch-hole screen is equipped with Gorilla Glass 5 protection.

The Dimensity 800U chipset fuels the Redmi Note 9T 5G with LPPDR4x RAM and UFS 2.2 storage. It is backed by a 5,000mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging. For capturing selfies, the Redmi Note 9T 5G has a 13-megapixel front camera. On the rear panel, it has a circular camera module that houses a 48-megapixel main sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens with 118-degree FOV, and a 2-megapixel macro lens.

The Redmi 9T sports a 6.53-inch IPS LCD screen with a waterdrop notch. Like the Note 9T, this phone also offers an FHD+ resolution and a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. It supports a conventional refresh rate of 60Hz and comes with Gorilla Glass 3 protection.

The Snapdragon 662 SoC drives the Redmi 9T with LPPDR4x RAM and UFS 2.1 / UFS 2.2 storage. The massive 6,000mAh battery of the Redmi 9T is coupled with 18W fast charging. The handset also supports reverse charging. For selfies, it has an 8-megapixel front camera. The rear shell of the device has a 48-megapixel main camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera, a 2-megapixel macro lens, and a 2-megapixel depth assist lens.

The Redmi Note 9T 5G and Redmi 9T are both equipped with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. These phones run MIUI 12 based on Android 10 and they are packed with other features like dual SIM support, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth, GPS, USB-C, microSD card slot, and a 3.5mm audio jack. Both smartphones are equipped with water-repelling chassis.

Redmi Note 9T and Redmi 9T pricing and availability

The Redmi Note 9T 5G variants such as 4GB RAM + 64GB storage and 6GB RAM + 128GB storage are priced at €229 and €269, respectively.  However, early-bird buyers will be able to purchase both models at reduces prices such as €199 (~Rs 17,900) and €249 (~Rs 22,400), respectively. It comes in two colours like Daybreak Purple and Nightfall Black.

On the other side, the Redmi 9T models such as 4GB RAM + 64GB storage (UFS 2.1) and 4GB RAM + 64GB storage (UFS 2.1 + NFC) are priced at €159 (~Rs 14,300) and €169 (~Rs 15,200). The 4GB RAM + 128GB storage (UFS 2.2) and 4GB RAM + 128GB storage (UFS 2.2 + NFC) are priced €189 (~Rs 17,000) and €199 (~Rs 17,900), respectively. The Redmi 9T can be bought in colours like Twilight Blue, Sunset Orange, Carbon Gray and Ocean Green.
