Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi entered the fitness wearable segment in April earlier this year. The brand announced its first fitness tracker called Redmi Band in China. Now Xiaomi has brought the wearable device to the Indian market as the Redmi Smart Band. It will compete against the Realme Band, Mi Smart Band 4 (review) and Honor Band 5 in the country.

The Redmi Smart Band is quite different from the Mi Band and looks similar to the Realme Band. The latest offering is also cheaper than the Mi Band. The Indian version of the Redmi Smart Band retains most of the specs from its Chinese counterpart. Let’s find out what the device offers out of the box.
Redmi Smart Band specifications and features
The Redmi Smart Band features a 1.08-inch rectangular LCD colour display, with several watch faces to choose from. The fitness tracker is also water-resistant up to 5 ATM. It’s lightweight at 13g.
The Redmi Smart Band is equipped with a 24 / 7 heart rate monitor and a sleep tracker. It offers support for 5 sports modes including outdoor running, treadmill, cycling, walking and freestyle exercise. The device also comes with idle alerts that lets user know when they have been sitting for too long.
The Redmi Smart Band offers convenient features like app notifications, incoming calls, alarm, event reminders, weather updates and phone locator. Users can also control music playback on the Redmi Band.
The Redmi Smart Band offers a 14-day battery life thanks to its 130mAh battery. It features a built-in USB charger that can be accessed by removing one strap and plugging it directly into to a laptop or charging adapter. As for connectivity, the Redmi Smart Band supports Bluetooth 5.0 and is compatible with Android devices running 4.4+ and iOS devices with iOS 9.0 or above.

The Redmi Smart Band is priced at Rs 1,599. It will be available for purchase on Amazon, Mi.com, Mi Homes and retail outlets from September 9th. The fitness tracker can be availed in four colours i.e. Orange, Blue, Green and Black.
