Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi had entered the television segment back in August this year. At that time, the company had launched a 70-inch 4K TV in its home country. Now Redmi is expanding its television lineup by introducing a 40-inch TV with full HD resolution in China. The latest 40-inch Redmi TV comes with toned-down specs compared to the 70-inch model and is available at an affordable price tag. The TV comes with features like Dolby Audio, 1GB RAM and 8GB storage, and PatchWall UI.
Redmi TV specifications and features
The new Redmi TV comes with a 40-inch display bearing FHD resolution. It features a 60Hz refresh rate and offers a 178-degree viewing angle. On the audio front, the smart TV is equipped with two 8W speakers with support for Dolby Audio and DTS 2.0+ Digital Out.
In terms of hardware, the new Redmi TV 40-inch is powered by a Cortex-A53 quad-core Amlogic processor clocked at 1.4GHz coupled with a Mali-450 MP2 GPU. The TV packs 1GB RAM and offers 8GB of internal storage. On the connectivity front, the Redmi TV comes with two HDMI ports, one USB port, a 1AV interface, Ethernet port and 2.4GHz WiFi. Like Xiaomi’s Mi LED TVs, the latest Redmi TV also runs PatchWall OS based on Android. The TV also comes with an AIoT smart interconnection which helps in controlling smart devices and apps.
Redmi TV 40-inch price and availability:
Redmi’s latest 40-inch FHD TV is priced at RMB 999 (~Rs 10,059). It is available for purchase via various online retailers in China. At the moment it’s unknown whether Xiaomi’s sub-brand would launch Redmi TVs in the Indian market.
