The RedmiBook launch date for India has been confirmed. Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi will be announcing the first RedmiBook for India on August 3rd. It is expected to go up against the Realme Book laptop, which is expected to launch soon in India.
Since last year, Redmi has been expanding its product portfolio in India. It announced its first TWS earbuds and power bank last year. Later, it unveiled its first fitness band and a smartwatch in the country. Redmi has been selling laptops in China since 2019, but it is only now that the company will be releasing its notebooks in India.
RedmiBook design revealed
Xiaomi India’s website has a microsite for the upcoming RedmiBook. A teaser image that gives a first look at the laptop can be seen on the landing page. The laptop seems to be equipped with slim bezels on either side, whereas the top bezel features a webcam and the bottom bezel carries the Redmi branding. The company is yet to reveal the specifications of the device. People who are interested in staying updated on RedmiBook’s launch can hit the Notify Me button on the microsite.
It appears that the company will be releasing new teasers daily to reveal the features of the RedmiBook. Today, it has asked users to guess the colour of the RedmiBook from options like Dark Metal, Coal Black, Charcoal Grey, and Moon Grey. Users who share their answers on Twitter with tags such as #RedmiBook #SuperStartLIte @RedmiIndia @Flipkart will stand a chance to win some Redmi goodies.
RedmiBook Pro 14 and RedmiBook Pro 15 specifications
Earlier this year, Redmi announced the RedmiBook Pro 14 and RedmiBook Pro 15 laptops in China. The 14-inch model came with features like a 2.5K display, a 60Hz refresh rate, a 56Wh battery with 65W charging. On the other side, the 15-inch variant came with a 3.2K display, a 90Hz refresh rate, a 70Wh battery with 100W charging.
The RedmiBook Pro 14 and Pro 15 are available with Intel’s 11th generation Core i7 and Core i5 processors. There is also optional Nvidia MX450 GPU. The laptops also feature 16GB of DDR4 RAM, 512GB of PCIe SSD storage, Windows 10 Home, backlit keyboard, and HD webcam. It remains to be seen whether Redmi will bring these laptops or some other devices in India.
