RedmiBook confirmed to launch alongside Redmi 10x on May 26th

Xiaomi is set to launch the Redmi 10x smartphone in China on May 26th. The company’s sub-brand will also announce RedmiBook laptops alongside. This was confirmed by the brand’s GM Lu Weibing on Weibo. The post reads “Small screens for games are not fun and large screens for offices are not portable. What screen size is the perfect for both.”

This hints that the brand’s upcoming laptop may pack a 16 or 17-inch display inside a 15-inch body. Xiaomi is expected to introduce three models of its upcoming laptop at the launch event. The specifications of the two variants were leaked previously.

As per the leak, the RedmiBook will reportedly arrive in two variants with model number TIM TN 1951 and TIM TN 1953. The former is said to be powered by an AMD Ryzen 5 4500U processor based on 7nm architecture. The latter is expected to be equipped with a Ryzen 7 4700 chipset clocked at 2.7GHz. Both the variants are tipped to pack 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD storage. The machines will run Windows 10. Apart from this, there is no more information on the upcoming RedmiBook.

The Redmi 10X could feature an in-display fingerprint sensor.

Coming to the Redmi 10x, the smartphone is confirmed to be powered by MediaTek Dimensity 820 processor with support for 5G networks. However, the device will reportedly be launched in 4G version as well with a Helio G70 SoC. The 5G variant will be available in three RAM and storage configurations up to 8GB + 256GB, while the 4G model will be offered in two options up to 6GB + 128GB. 

The Redmi 10x will feature the same design as the Redmi Note 9 Pro series. It will be available in Green, Purple, Blue and Gold colours. The back panel will house a square-shaped quad-camera module. Xiaomi confirmed in a Weibo post that the upcoming Redmi 10x will sport an AMOLED display with Always-on display (AoD) feature. The smartphone is expected to offer an in-display fingerprint scanner. The 5G version is also confirmed to support dual-5G connectivity.
