On: May 12, 2020

The Mukesh Ambani-led telecom operator, Reliance Jio is known for offering freebies and benefits that are extremely helpful for subscribers. Recently, the telco revived its ‘Jio Data Pack‘, offering up to 8GB of free data to some of its subscribers for a duration of seven days. The company offered the free data pack to its users after the first and second lockdown in the country begun, in March and April, respectively.

Now, OnlyTech reports that the telecom operator is offering an unlimited on-net calling plan for a grace period to its prepaid users. The add-on plan was spotted on a Jio number whose base plan expired a day before.

According to the source, the unlimited on-net plan was added to the account of a prepaid user whose plan was expiring on May 11th. Apparently, the user was on the Rs 98 prepaid plan and the plan was scheduled to expire on May 11th. However, the user was in for a pleasant surprise when they noticed that the telco had added a 24 hour grace period with unlimited on-net calling to the account.

For the uninitiated, on-net calls implies those to the same network, in this case, other Jio users. However, It’s not known yet whether Jio is adding this plan for all users or just a select few or in some circles. This a good initiative as it lets users continue to call other Jio numbers, in case they are unable to recharge immediately.

Reliance Jio Rs 151, Rs 201 and Rs 251 data add-on packs

In other news, Reliance Jio recently launched new ‘Work from Home’ data packs priced at Rs 151, Rs 201 and Rs 251.  These plans offer 30GB, 40GB and 50GB data, respectively to the user. There is no daily data limit on these plans, as they will last for the existing base plan’s validity on the user’s account. This makes them ideal for heavy data users.
