In March 2020, several Reliance Jio users were in for a pleasant surprise as the telco offered them free data benefits under its new ‘Jio Data Pack’. Under the pack, Jio credited users’ prepaid accounts with limited data for a set period of time at the end of March, when the lockdown had just begun.
Since the lockdown has been extended up to May 3rd, Reliance Jio is bringing back the Jio Data Pack once again for its users with the same benefits and same validity. As of now, it’s not known whether the benefit is rolling out to all users or a selected few. Here’s everything you need to know about the Reliance ‘Jio Data Pack’ and how to check if you are eligible.
Jio Data Pack: how to check if you have received free data
The new ‘Jio Data Pack’ is similar to the free 2GB daily data benefit that Jio provided for 90 days straight back in 2017 to celebrate its first anniversary in India. The company offered 8GB total data benefit for three months back then. The new Jio Data Pack is the same, but with a validity of 4 days.
It was first offered to some users in March and now the company has revived it again for more users. However, do bear in mind that the company is randomly selecting users who will get free data, so chances are that not everyone will receive it.
Reliance Jio has started rolling out 2GB data per day for 4 days to some of its users on April 27th and for some, on April 28th. Some users have also reported to have received the benefit on April 29th. Therefore, the pack will be valid up to May 1st, 2nd or 3rd, depending on when you receive it.
Users can check whether or not they have received the Jio Data Pack on their mobile number by visiting ‘My Plans’ section in MyJio mobile app. The extra data benefit will be applicable over and above the existing plan.
