Reliance Jio is reportedly working on a tablet and television called Jio tablet and Jio TV respectively. The information comes from publication 91Mobiles who learned from tipster Mukul Sharma.
The Mukesh Ambani-led company is expected to expand its product portfolio beyond telecom, broadband, and JioPhone. The telecom operator launched its first smartphone, JioPhone Next last month. Both the Jio TV and Jio tablet are tipped to debut sometime next year.
Jio TV and Jio tablet reportedly in development
91Mobiles reports that the Jio TV and Jio tablet could carry affordable price tags. Reliance is also rumoured to be working on its first affordable laptop, JioBook which has been in the news for some time. Although the exact timeline remains a mystery, we can expect all three devices to hit the market next year. The report also adds that the specifications of the Jio TV and Jio tablet remain under the wraps.
The Jio tablet could ship with the company’s PragatiOS that is built in association with Google for the Jio Phone Next. The tablet is tipped to feature a large screen and pre-installed Google Play Store. It is expected to be powered by a budget Snapdragon processor considering Jio’s partnership with Qualcomm. The Jio tablet could carry an aggressive price tag and compete against the likes of Realme, Motorola, and Nokia in the market.
As for the Jio TV, it is expected to be offered in various screen sizes. It is tipped to pack smart features like pre-installed OTT apps. The company could bundle a set-top box that is offered for free with JioFiber on purchase of the Jio TV.
