Mukesh Ambani is betting big with Jio, and their ambitions aren’t limited to mobile connectivity alone. After 4G mobile connections and broadband services, it seems Jio is getting ready to enter the DTH market. Jio has already reached the milestone of 80 million user base for its 4G services. The company has already announced its broadband services in few cities, and now few reports suggest that the company is also planning to start Direct to Home (DTH) services very soon, with the expected launch in March or April this year.
According to a recent picture surfaced online, the round set top box is shown which is said to be connecting either Jio Fiber or dish (which is yet to be confirmed). The picture also shows a Jio remote as a part of the package. By looking at the remote, we came to know about one interesting feature – the Jio remote control has a mic button which indicates that it will support voice command too.
By looking at the ports on the back of the round STB, it includes an S/PDIF (Sony/Philips Digital Interface Format) port, an ethernet port, an HDMI port, and also a USB port. There is no confirmation yet about the authenticity of the picture or the launch date of the service. However, it is said to launch the services in March or April.
