Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL)’s annual general meeting (AGM) was organised on Monday. It is an event where a company talks about past performance and gives guidelines of the future roadmap. Over the years, investors and analysts have come to expect major announcements from RIL at this event. In 2021, it was at its AGM that RIL announced its foray into green energy. In 2020, too RIL chose this platform to disclose Google as a minority investor in the company.
There have been a lot of speculations regarding this year’s AGM as well. It was expected that the company would reveal details regarding their 5G foray and the much talked about affordable JioPhone with 5G capabilities. However, this smartphone was a no-show at the event. Guess we will have to wait a little longer to know more about this budget 5G smartphone.

This as per Ambani will enable the company to offer an unparalleled combination of coverage, capacity, quality, and affordability.
Commenting on the launch timeframe, Sr Ambani mentioned that the company will be pumping in ₹2 lakh crore investment and is all set for the world’s fastest 5G rollout plan.
