- The River e-scooter could be gearing up for a launch in the coming months
- There’s no word on the powertrain options available with the vehicle
- The leaked image tells us that the e-scooter could have a crash guard and a front peg
As people who are closely acquainted with the Indian electric scooter market will tell you, it’s nearly impossible to keep track of all the upcoming releases. A startup from Bengaluru named River has been developing its own electric scooter for the past few months, with the vehicle even popping up on the streets for testing.
River’s new electric scooter has been spotted again in spy photos, courtesy of Rushlane. The solitary image doesn’t tell much, mainly due to the heavy camouflage, but we get some key pointers about the headlamps as well as the overall frame of the vehicle. We can also see the uniquely designed dual headlamps of the River e-scooter in this image.
As pointed out by 91Mobiles, the e-scooter also appears to have a front peg, a feature usually reserved for bicycles. Furthermore, there’s a motorcycle-style crash guard on the front, too. Customers can also expect features such as an LCD instrument cluster, clip-on handlebars, and even smart connected features, which have become a prerequisite for e-scooters today.
River e-scooter expected range and price
Since the River e-scooter is only making its way to the leaks now, there’s little info on the motor and battery options provided by the company. Given that the likes of the Ola S1 are currently used as the benchmark for e-scooters, the range of River’s new offering will likely be within the 150-200 km mark. Using the same metric, River’s new scooter could be priced under Rs 1 lakh (ex-showroom), thus making it a competitive offering in the crowded Indian e-scooter landscape.
