Samsung The Serif and 2020 QLED 8K TVs launched in India: price, specifications

Samsung recently launched The Frame 2020 and a new line-up of smart TVs in various resolutions and sizes in India. The new smart TVs are being offered in 4K UHD, FHD and HD Ready options. Now, the brand has launched more smart TVs in the country, including a premium 8K series and a lifestyle model.

The Serif is the latest lifestyle television from the brand, which is designed in collaboration with Parisian designers Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec. Apart from this, the company has also launched its flagship QLED 8K TV in the country. Here’s everything you need to know about the new launches from the brand.

The Serif smart TV features a unique I-shaped unibody design, which can be placed on a table, shelf or on the floor. Samsung is offering a metal stand with the TV, which can be easily detached to let you move the TV around.

Samsung is offering The Serif in 43-, 49- and 55-inch sizes. The screen features 100 percent colour volume, Quantum Processor 4K and HDR 10+. There’s also an AI Upscaling feature that upscales content to 4K and Quantum Dot technology. The TV is equipped with an Active Voice Amplifier (AVA) feature, focuses on meaningful sounds and voices in the video.

The Serif is also the first smart TV to feature an integrated NFC technology to tap, connect and start watching content directly from a smartphone. Other features include multi-view, integrated support for Alexa and Bixby, personal computer mode, auto hotspot, Home Cloud and more.

Coming to the 2020 QLED 8K TVs, Samsung is offering these in 65-, 75-, 82- and 85-inch display sizes. The ultra-premium range comes with features such as Infinity Screen, Adaptive Picture, Active Voice Amplifier, Q-Symphony and Object Tracking Sound+. For a true 8K viewing experience, the TVs are equipped with 8K Resolution, 8K AI Upscaling, Quantum Processor 8K, and Quantum HDR technologies. The Infinity Screen also offers a 99 percent screen-to-body ratio, which is the highest in the industry. Other features are similar to that of The Serif.

These TVs also come with support for a wide range of OTT platforms such as YouTube, Prime Video, Netflix, ZEE5, SonyLIV, Voot and more.

Samsung 2020 QLED 8K TVs and The Serif price in India

The Serif has been priced at Rs 83,900, Rs 1,16,900 and Rs 1,48,900 for the 43-inch, 49-inch and 55-inch models, respectively. The 2020 QLED 8K TVs will retail at Rs 4,99,000 for the 65-inch version, Rs 9,99,000 for the 75-inch variant, Rs 14,29,000 for the 82-inch model and Rs 15,79,000 for the 85-inch version.

The Serif will be available on Amazon, Samsung’s official online store Samsung Shop and select Samsung Smart Plazas. The QLED 8K TVs will be available at Samsung Smart Plazas, leading consumer electronic stores and across online platforms, including Samsung’s official online store Samsung Shop.

As part of the introductory offer, Samsung is offering two Galaxy S20+ smartphones upon pre-booking the Samsung QLED 8K TV between July 1st and July 10th. Other offers include cashback of Rs 15,000 through HDFC, ICICI and Federal Bank cards. Samsung is also offering 50 percent off on subscriptions of Zee5, Sony Live and Eros Now, free one year Gaana Plus annual subscription, three months of Apple Music, and a free subscription to Office365 along with 5GB of cloud storage.
