It looks like Samsung is planning to launch a new budget phone in the near future that will boot the latest Android 10 out of the box. Ahead of the unveiling, the smartphone bearing the model number Samsung SM-A015F has appeared in the database of the benchmarking app Geekbench. The listing on the certification has revealed a few specifications of the smartphone.
The Samsung SM-A015F has been benchmarked running the latest iteration of Android i.e. Android 10. The phone is powered by a 2.02GHz octa-core processor of unknown make. The listing has also revealed that the handset will come with 2GB of RAM. The device has a single-core score of 904 and a multi-core score of 3,475. No other details have been revealed by the benchmark at the moment.
The specs of the Samsung SM-A015F suggest that it will be a budget smartphone. While the Geekbench listing mentions Android 10, it’s quite possible that it will arrive with the recently announced Android 10 (Go edition). If and when the handset is unveiled and released in India, it could compete against Xiaomi’s recently launched budget phone, the Redmi 8A. So we can expect the handset to be priced under Rs 10,000.
Notably, a report by 91mobiles has also suggested that the Samsung SM-A015F model is in the pipeline at the moment. It is expected to be the most affordable Galaxy A series smartphone. It could be placed below the Galaxy A10 and Galaxy A10s. The report has also mentioned that the phone will have a 5.7-inch display and 16GB of RAM. Unfortunately, there’s no word on its commercial name at the moment, but we will let you know as soon as we hear anything.
