Samsung Announces the Galaxy A9 Pro at Rs 32,490 in India

Samsung has announced the latest addition to their Galaxy A series of smartphones. The A series is second to the Galaxy lineup when it comes to premium smartphones in the Samsung portfolio. The Galaxy A5, A7 and A8 have all been hit with those who did not want to purchase the Galaxy S series devices but want a similar high-end build quality and metallic construction.

The A9 Pro is a phablet device with a screen size that is 6 inches. This is a Full HD Super AMOLED display, and knowing how well Samsung does when it comes to displays, you can be sure that the colours will pop and stand out really well on the Galaxy A9 Pro. The phone is powered by a Snapdragon 652 chipset, which we have already seen on devices such as the HTC 10 Lifestyle, LeEco Le2 and the Xiaomi Mi Max.

The rear camera on the A9 Pro is 16MP with OIS and a f/1.9 aperture. The front camera for all your selfies and video calling is 8MP and the same aperture of f/1.9 as the rear camera. There is a single LED flash on the back of the device. The USP of the phone is its battery, as the A9 Pro packs a 5000 mAh battery under the hood. The device does support fast charging too. There is 32GB internal storage, 4GB RAM and a dedicated slot for expansion of internal memory up to 256GB using a MicroSD card. As with all high-end Samsung smartphones, the A9 Pro comes with a fingerprint scanner in the Home button. There is support for Dual SIM cards and usual connectivity options such as LTE, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS etc are included.

On the software front, you are looking at Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The A9 Pro has been priced at Rs 32,490, which is well in the price range of the Galaxy S6. The device will sell in three colours: Black, Gold and White. The sale starts from September 26th.
