Samsung Finally Unveiled Its Android Flip Phone With Dual Full HD Display

Last year in November, Samsung launched its first ever Android powered flip phone W2016. Almost exactly after one year, the company unveiled its successor – W2017.


Similar to its predecessor, it is also launched exclusively for China. Although it was leaking online for quite some time and finally today, the Korean giant announced it for the Chinese market. It features dual Full HD displays and a fingerprint scanner.

It is powered by Snapdragon 820 aided with 4GB of RAM. It comes with 64GB of inbuilt storage which can be further expanded up to 256GB. Both the display are of 4.2-inch in size and features Super AMOLED touchscreens. As far as cameras are concerned, it features a 12-megapixel rear camera with 4K video recording support and a 5-megapixel snapper on the front.

The phone packs in a 2,300mAh battery with fast wireless charging support and runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Its dimensions are 127.8 x 61.4 x 15.8 mm and weighs 208gm. It comes with an always-on display and also features a heart rate monitor sensor.

Talking about the price and availability, it is also expected to be priced heftily just like its predecessor. It is expected to be priced around 20,000 Chinese Yuan (Rs 1.98 Lakhs). The Samsung W2016, which was launched last year was priced at 9999 Chinese Yuan (Rs 1 Lakh).
