Samsung has silently launched its latest budget A-series device called the Samsung Galaxy A01 Core. The new smartphone is the watered-down variant of the Samsung Galaxy A01, which was launched last year in December. The phone featured a dual-camera setup, waterdrop notch display, up to 8GB RAM and more as its key highlights.
In comparison, the Galaxy A01 Core comes with a smaller display, a single camera on the back panel and Android 10 (Go Edition). The smartphone has gone official in Indonesia and is already up for sale in the country.
Samsung Galaxy A01 Core specifications and features
The Samsung Galaxy A01 Core comes with a 5.3-inch PLS LCD display. The screen offers HD+ resolution and the dated 18.5:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone has considerable bezels all around the display and no notch either. It comes clad in plastic and has a ridge-like pattern on the back to resemble the prism design of the A-series phones.
Coming to the cameras, the Samsung Galaxy A01 Core features a single camera module on the back with an LED flash. The camera on the back is an 8-megapixel unit with an aperture of f/2.2. The front camera is a 5-megapixel unit with f/2.4 aperture.
Ticking at the core of the Samsung Galaxy A01 Core is the entry-level quad-core MediaTek MT6739 processor with a clock speed of up to 1.5GHz. The chipset is accompanied by 1GB RAM and 16GB or 32GB onboard storage, which can be expanded further using a microSD card. Out of the box, the smartphone boots Android 10 (Go Edition) which is optimised for entry-level devices.
Other features include a 3,000mAh battery, hybrid SIM slot and 3.5mm headphone jack.
Samsung Galaxy A01 Core pricing and availability
The Samsung Galaxy A01 Core is being offered in blue, black and red colours. The smartphone has been priced at IDR 10,99,000 (~Rs 5,575), however, it’s available at an introductory price of IDR 9,99,000 (~Rs 5,070). The introductory price is valid till July 23rd. There’s no word on the global launch of the smartphone as of now.
