Samsung Galaxy A01 Russian Support Page Goes Live, Launch Seems Imminent

On: December 17, 2019

We’ve been tracking Samsung’s mystery device with the model number SM-A015F for some time now and it looks closer to launch than ever before. The handset, which is likely to be called Samsung Galaxy A01, has now appeared on Samsung Russia’s official website in the form of a support page. This happens after the same model was also spotted on the Bluetooth SIG database last week while an FCC model was also seen in November along with an appearance on NBTC.

From what we’ve gathered about it, the Galaxy A01 is largely believed to be an entry-level phone. It has a dual-camera setup on the rear, as was hinted by the FCC documents. The rear will also house a fingerprint reader which is not a surprise considering the budget-friendly nature of the handset. The Bluetooth certification showed four variants with dual-SIM capabilities and Bluetooth 4.2.

There’s still a lot we don’t know about the Galaxy A01 but speculation is that it could feature a 2920 mAh (rated capacity) battery. It could end up using a 2.0Ghz octa-core processor coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. We expect a 5.7-inch HD display on the phone and Android 10.0 but these are mostly guesses at best.

Now, Samsung has also been working on a number of high-end phones, the Galaxy S10 Lite and Galaxy Note 10 Lite, which could launch very soon. We’ve also seen two Notebooks at the FCC. All of this tells us that the Galaxy A01 could show up as surprise product at one of these big launches.
